Explore the Small Island of Nusa lembongan


Nusa Lembongan is fast nusa-lembonganbecoming one of Bali’s most popular tourist attraction. it is an small island located in the southeast of Bali about 15 kilometers off the coast of Sanur, Bali. It takes about 30 minutes to reach this island by fast boats. Administratively, Nusa Lembongan is a part of Sub district of Klungkung Regency. The total area of Nusa Lembongan is about 8 square kilometers. This small island is surrounded by beautiful coral reefs, white sand beach and limestone cliffs. The north eastern part of this island is covered by 212 hectares of mangrove forest. The waters around this island is estimated to have at least 247 species of corals and 562 species of reef fish. The climate in Nusa Lembongan is almost the same as Bali, but this island is drier then Bali especially during May to September. Inhabitants in this island gain their living by fishing and agriculture and seaweed farming as micro-industry.  Population in this island is estimated about 5000 people.

Most of the tourist attraction in this island are natural attractions. There are beautiful beaches where visitors can relax, the sunset in Nusa Lembongan is also as beautiful as Bali. Accommodations are not hard to find for visitors who wants to spend the night in this island. Locals here are Hindu and temples are easily found in this island, the culture and language spoken are mainly the same as Bali. Besides the beach resorts, visitors may visit and see interesting activities such as seaweed and salt production, pearl factory and another interesting place is the underground cave in Lembongan island. Visitors may find lots of excitements in this island.
